Abstract: In this study, the influence of ruthenium (Ru) doping on nickel oxide (NiO) films were investigated to achieve suitable optoelectronic properties. NiO films with different Ru doping concentrations (1.5, 2.5, and 3.5 wt%) were coated onto a cleaned hot (80 °C) glass substrate using a low-cost, home-made spin coater. The films were then pre-annealed at 80 °C and further annealed at 400 °C for crystallization. The formation of pure NiO films exhibiting a cubic polycrystalline structure with favorable growth orientation towards the (200) plane was confirmed. Ru doping at 1.5 and 2.5 wt% suppressed the growth of NiO films, and further incorporation of Ru (3.5 wt%) returns the preferred orientation in the (200) plane. Ru doping into NiO films generated defects such as void structures on the surface and shown a uniform distribution of Ru dopant across the films and confirmed the formation of NiO–RuO₂ composite. The band gap was reduced from 3.68 to 3.48 eV until the Ru doping concentration reached 2.5 wt%, which may be due to the generation of additional energy levels near the valence band, resulting in reduced transmission. The estimated resistivity decreased from 76.03 to 10.04 Ω–cm due to Ru doping, indicating an increase in film conductivity. Therefore, the introduction of Ru resulted in a reduced resistivity with preferential band gap, indicating a positive influence on the properties of NiO films.

Abstract: The present study ensembles the variation of standard deviation in terms of range for small sample. Smaller ranges having minimum upper limit of the sample standard deviation and sample mean deviation have been found. A comparative study is conducted between their dispersions and evaluated by a couple of examples.

টাঙ্গাইলের মাওলানা ভাসানী বিজ্ঞান ও প্রযুক্তি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ক্রিমিনোলজি অ্যান্ড পুলিশ সায়েন্স বিভাগে পিএইচডি প্রোগ্রাম শুরু হয়েছে। ২০২২-২৩ শিক্ষাবর্ষে দেশের প্রথম ক্রিমিনোলজি অ্যান্ড পুলিশ সায়েন্স বিষয়ে দুইজন শিক্ষার্থী নিয়ে পিএইচডি প্রোগ্রাম শুরু করলো বিভাগটি।

শনিবার বিভাগের সভাপতির কক্ষে পিএইচডি শিক্ষার্থীদের ফুল দিয়ে বরণ করে নেয়া হয়। এসময় উপস্থিত ছিলেন লাইফ সায়েন্স অনুষদের ডিন ও ক্রিমিনোলজি অ্যান্ড পুলিশ সায়েন্স বিভাগের সভাপতি অধ্যাপক ড. মোহাম্মদ ওমর ফারুক, বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের গবেষণা সেলের পরিচালক অধ্যাপক ড.মো. ফজলুল করিমসহ বিভাগের অন্যান্য শিক্ষক-শিক্ষিকা বৃন্দ।

পিএইচডি প্রোগ্রামে অংশগ্রহণকারী শিক্ষার্থীরা হলেন, বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সিপিএস বিভাগের সহকারী অধ্যাপক মাহমুদ আক্তার। তিনি সিপিএস বিভাগের ষষ্ঠ ব্যাচের শিক্ষার্থী ছিলেন, বর্তমানে একই বিভাগ কর্মরত আছেন। অন্যজন হলেন, আরিফুল ইসলাম । তিনি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের একই বিভাগের প্রথম ব্যাচের শিক্ষার্থী ছিলেন। বর্তমান তিনি বাংলাদেশ টেক্সটাইল বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে সহকারী রেজিস্ট্রার হিসেবে কর্মরত আছেন।

পিএইচডি প্রোগ্রামে অংশগ্রহণকারী শিক্ষার্থীরা ক্রিমিনোলজি অ্যান্ড পুলিশ সায়েন্স বিষয়ে দেশের প্রথম অধ্যাপক ও বর্তমান সিপিএস বিভাগের বর্তমান সভাপতি অধ্যাপক ড. ওমর ফারুক এর অধীনে পিএইচডি গবেষণা করবেন।

অধ্যাপক ড. ওমর ফারুক একজন জাতীয় ও আন্তর্জাতিক পর্যায়ের অপরাধ বিজ্ঞানী এবং ভিক্টিমোলজিস্ট। জাতীয় ও আন্তর্জাতিক পর্যায়ে তার ৩২টি প্রবন্ধ প্রকাশনা এবং একটি বই রয়েছে। এছাড়া তিনি অসংখ্য গবেষণা এবং জাতীয় ও আন্তর্জাতিক পর্যায়ে প্রবন্ধ উপস্থাপন করেছেন।

প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক জ্ঞানের মাধ্যমে অপরাধ বিষয়ে পর্যালোচনা এবং রূপকল্প তৈরিতে সহায়তা করার জন্যে,বাংলাদেশে ২০০৪ সালে ‘ক্রিমিনোলজি ও পুলিশ সায়েন্স’ বিভাগ নামে প্রথম যাত্রা শুরু হয়েছিল টাঙ্গাইলে মাওলানা ভাসানী বিজ্ঞান ও প্রযুক্তি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে।
